Farm and restaurant oasis in Ginosa

Tenuta Orsanese is located in Ginosa, in the Province of Taranto. As a synthesis of local history and the history of the Marchitelli family the estate originally belonged to the Dell'Osso barons, after which it became a working farm, followed by the food oasis that it is today. Francesco Marchitelli's great love of his land, Apulia, pushed him to leave Putignano and move to the Ionian coast amid the rich Metaponto plain. Immediately after the war, these lands, expropriated from the Giovinazzi marquis, were assigned to local farmers. It is here that a family-run business would be established, destined to become the focus of so much beauty at the service of those who love Apulia as Francesco has always loved it.

The Marchitelli family history

The roots of Tenuta Orsanese stretch back to Francesco and Addolorata Marchitelli, who married as soon as they were adults and welcomed two sons, Leonardo and Matteo.
The two brothers created the farm in collaboration with the children of small landowners in Ginosa. In 1999, the activities of Leonardo and Matteo concentrated on the cultivation of vineyards, vegetables, citrus trees and olive groves near the Ionian Sea.

The farm has developed since then, with investments in organic farming and a new adventure in the world of catering. Working alongside Leonardo and Matteo Marchitelli are their children, Cinzia, Pierfrancesco, Alessia and Marika.

Hospitality and good food

Today, as well as a farm, the estate is the embodiment of excellence, as it has been able to combine skill and a passion for local products with a marked sense of hospitality. We specialize in organizing events and ceremonies and our daily organic menu is based on ingredients that are always healthy, genuine and flavourful.
